Phil settled in Adelaide in the early 90s, and quickly utilised his drive and ambition to establish a manufacturing business that continued to grow until he sold it to an international company in 2008, just in time to avoid the losses of the global financial crisis.
Following a long held dream to own and work the land, and with a love of wine, he combined his passions, and began working the vintages in McLaren Vale to develop his knowledge and experiences. Having spent a significant part of his childhood at his grandparent’s farm, he continued to hope for his own acreage. The purchase of the property with vines in Blewitt Springs brought the dream into reality and so the small batch winemaker was born. Phil is very much hands on with all viticulture and winemaking processes and with every passing vintage Phil hones his skills to create a standout wine for you to enjoy and remember.
Phil’s ambition was to create a wine worthy of receiving a gold medal. He achieved this in 2019 when he won five gold medals for wines he made in 2017.
Phil is a member of the Sustainable Australia Wine-growing (SAW) program and is committed to caring for the local environment, and contributing to sustainable viticulture practices. Hence the vines are treated with minimum impact sprays and no pesticides.
