We have a new Fiano white wine that was bottled in December 2024 made from our organic / biodynamic grapes here in Blewitt Springs
Blewitt Springs Wine Company is the trading name owned by Taborco PTY LTDTaborco  PTY LTD is owned by sole MD Phil Tabor
My personal favourite is the 2017 Reserve Shiraz. I had four new American Oak barrels in 2017 and approximately twenty aged barrels. Before bottling we tasted all the barrels and two of the new American Oak barrels were stand out. Because of this we decided to make a reserve from the two barrels. This produced only one pallet of wine.We send the Reserve to be judged by Halliday and Wine State Magazine in 2021 and were lucky enough to receive a gold medal from both organisations for this wine.
Mclaren Vale soils are very diverse. So many subregions have a taste of place because of the terroir.Blewitt Springs stands alone with a growing medium of deep sand over clay and iron stone. The elevation in Blewitt Springs is the highest in the subregions of McLaren Vale. This allows the fruit to be harvested later. Our farming practises are organic / bionamic and we attempt to harvest before the fruit is overripe. Our winemaking philosophy is low intervention and pro active, rather than reactive. All our fermentations  are cold. Approximately 20 degrees centigrade, which takes longer but keeps the integrity of the fruit. All these practises give our wines a distinctive taste and unique style.
The average cost of our wines is $30.00 per bottle. Our Blewitt Springs Nouveau is currently on special at  our cellar door $25.00 per bottle. Our 2017 Reserve Shiraz is $65.00 per bottle.

Vintage fortified is only stored in barrel for approx 18 months before bottling so it goes into bottle with more acid and fresher fruit characters it then ages in the bottle so its your decision when to drink, where as Tawny is stored in barrel for 10 years+ it oxidises and some of the acid drops out it also changes colour and has a sweeter taste.

If you buy 12 or more bottles of wine we will delivery them free to your door, under 12 bottles there is a flat rate delivery fee of $25

Lo Bo May is a play on words around the French word Baumė. Baumė is a unit used to measure the amount of sugar in the fruit a high sugar content results into a high Alcohol percentage because the Sugar is turned into Alcohol by the yeast through fermentation so low Baumė = low Alcohol. Because our Lo Bo May products are low intervention and low Alcohol it makes perfect sense😃

we do not have mains water here so all the vines are irrigated from our dam which is filled from rain water

The soil here is Sand over clay. It is quite ancient is some parts it can date back to approx 75 million years. The great advantage to growing vines in this medium is that the fruit struggles and the result is smaller berries with a more intense flavour.Blewitt Springs fruit has a true taste of place.

The farming practices are quite similar that only certified organic inputs can be used ie no pesticides or chemicals the difference is that a special preparation of microbes are used in  Biodynamic farming and pruning , harvesting etc are alined with the moon cycles both practices ensure the wine is clean and is free from man made chemicals.

We usually harvest around March / April depending on the weather conditions some years we have started to harvesting in February

Yes we grow Fiano and Arino white grapes and we grow Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Nero red grapes

Some of our wines are additive free but it is very hard to age wines without Sulphides so minimal organic Sulphides are added before bottling, no other Chemicals are added.
